Yarn Details

While I love the color palette offered by Loops & Threads yarn, here are a few great alternatives:

1. Scheepjes Stone Washed XL

  • Why it works: A wonderfully soft cotton-acrylic blend with subtle heathered color that gives great stitch definition and a cozy feel. The colors are gorgeous and understated, I think the meadows blanket would be beautiful with this yarn!

2. Lion Brand Color Theory

  • Why it works: gorgeous, hand-painted–style colors give beautiful depth and dimension to flower hexagon motifs, making each hexagon unique.

3. Knit Picks Swish Worsted

  • Why it works: A soft, classic worsted‑weight wool with excellent stitch definition and drape, ideal for showing off flower hexagon motifs in the Meadows Blanket.

Seaming

Arrange the hexagons following the layout shown in the image below.

Seam motifs with wrong sides facing, using a whip stitch worked through the back loops only of both motifs.

Each side of the motif contains 7 stitches; first, seam all 6 petals to the center hexagon of the flower, then seam through the sides of each petal to secure them to adjacent petals.

Once all flowers are complete, arrange them according to the diagram above and seam the flowers to each other, again using a whip stitch through the back loops only.

Weave in all ends.

Using a 5 mm crochet hook, join dark green (green lagoon) yarn in any corner, ch 1

For the long sides:

For the short sides:

Work sc evenly across the short side. When long side is reached, sc 2 times in first st then follow insructions for long side.

When first st of the border is reached, fasten off using an invisible join.

Weave in all ends.
