Finished Measuments
Your completed fabric should measure 15 cm by 15 cm (6" x 6")
Yarn
You will need approximately 25 meters (27 yards) of a worsted weight (4) yarn.

Hook Size and Notions
5 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors
8 cm (3") diameter Christmas bauble
Pattern Abbreviations
BLO - back loop(s) only
ch(s) – chain(s)
rep – repeat
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
yo – yarn over
( ) - work a group of stitches all in the same stitch or space
** – repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed
These are US crochet terms from the Craft Yarn Council standards.
Pattern
Using a 5 mm crochet hook, ch 15
Row 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each remaining ch, ch 1, turn {14 sts}
Row 2 sc in first st, BLO sc in next 12 sts, sc in last st, ch 1, turn {14 sts}
Rows 3 - 25 repeat Row 2 {14 sts}
Fasten off leaving a long tail.
Fold the rectangle in half and use the long tail to whip stitch the edges closed. Weave the long tail in and out through the side of each row and pull to close.
Place fabric over a Christmas bauble with an 8 cm (3") diameter and weave in and out through the remaining open side. Pull yarn to close around the bauble and weave in ends.
